What is the TOEIC test ?
The TOEIC (Test of English for International Communication) is an internationally recognised language test that jobseekers sometimes have to pass to get into a company. It is therefore a test adapted to a professional environment, but not only as some institutions also ask to take it for admission. It is a way of formally confirming your language level. The TOEIC is available in different forms but our examination centre provides « the Listening and Reading test ».
The TOEIC Listening & Reading test measures your written and oral comprehension skills in English, from intermediate to advanced levels. It takes the form of a multiple-choice test, administered on paper.
The usefulness of TOEIC
It has become common for TOEIC scores to appear in job descriptions or job advertisements from large companies. TOEIC scores on a CV are a better indicator of a candidate’s language skills than « false » statements such as « reading, writing, speaking ». The candidate demonstrates his or her English language skills by mentioning the score he or she obtained on the TOEIC test. The test is designed and administered by an independent organisation, so that companies, schools or universities all see value in it. All candidates are evaluated on the same criteria.
How long do the TOEIC tests last ?
The TOEIC Listening and Reading exam is very specific: it lasts 2 hours and is divided into two sections, listening and reading. The Listening part lasts about 45 minutes. It consists of 4 exercises. The Reading part lasts about 75 minutes and consists of 4 exercises.
When and how can I take the TOEIC ?
Our examination centre offers several official dates during the year. In order to take the TOEIC test, you must choose a date and register yourself on the ETS Global exam website.
It is important to register in advance to ensure that you can take the test on time. Please note that seats are limited.
